A Time For Everything

A Time for EverythingECC.3:1 There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:
The secret to knowing the peace that God offers is to discover, accept and appreciate that God is the only one with perfect timing.

Being a child of God is amazing because it means that no matter what season of life we find ourselves in, we can choose to celebrate and honor God in the midst of it.

We can make a choice to grow in the fullness of God and recognize the wondrous season God has plopped you in. As you are appreciating the season, no matter what it is, you are becoming more like your Creator.

We all have our favorite seasons.

Some like the new beginnings that spring offers.

Summer is a favorite of others because of the opportunity to enjoy long sunny days.

Fall can bring people happiness because of cooler temperatures, colorful leaves and bountiful crops.

Still others love winter for blazing fires, warm clothes and snuggle blankets.

EVERY SEASON IS HANDCRAFTED BY GOD FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, the season you are experiencing is no different.

Some seasons are more fun and comfortable than others. Some we enjoy, some not so much. But each season provides an opportunity to learn something more about ourselves and our God.

If we weather the storm, we sometimes get to see our God reveal himself as miraculous and wonderful right before our eyes. .

We don’t always get to choose the seasons we experience in life, but we can choose to know that God is there with us.

There are times we simply don’t understand the season we are in. However, knowing God trumps knowing answers.

No matter the season bestowed upon you. Take a moment to thank God and ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

A Time For Everything

The seasons are changing, summer has transitioned into fall and soon fall will change to winter. Our lives mimic the seasons we endure on earth. We will have good seasons and we will have bad seasons.

However, even that is addressed in the Bible. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says that “there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens

When we like the season we are in, we are content and often look no further than the ground which we are standing on. When the season we are in is not what we anticipated or not a season we are comfortable in, we often spout the “why me, why now” philosophy.

Perhaps we have forgotten the phrase we often quote and is true for all times and all people…….except for us when we end up in a difficult season. That phrase is “God’s timing is not our own and God’s timing is perfect.

Our circumstances will change but by looking to God in the transition we can find quietness and confidence. If we follow His path of light and grace, we will find His way always leads to peace.

Every season is given by God for a particular purpose. Each season provides a unique opportunity to learn something more about God and to draw closer to Him. It offers us the chance to discover the role He plays in our lives.

Good, bad, joyous, heartbreaking, look at that particular season as a gift wrapped with lessons from God.

Go back now and look at how Ecclesiastes 3 describes God’s role in the timing of the seasonal flow. He says that God has made everything beautiful in its time, not just the good or the easy times.

In it’s season, everything is beautiful and has a purpose. Read that again. Let it soak in.

All seasons have beauty in their own way and have a purpose.

Perhaps we should pay closer attention to the season we find ourselves in. Unwrap it and find the gift that God promises it holds.

Regardless of what season we find ourselves in, realign our hearts to our Lord so we can gain strength and allow ourselves to be led through the natural changing rhythms of life.

A time for everything- Letting Go

A time for everything- Letting Go
Part Three
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 gives us a disciplined melody of what will be in our life. Those scripture make it perfectly clear that there is a time for everything we go through and that time is directed and chosen by God.
We all have times when we recognize that God is calling us to a necessary ending so that we may seize something new. When God gives those sometimes difficult directions we can say, Ok God, I am in, I know you are leading this expedition and I trust you therefore I am on board, let’s go. Or as happens often we can say, sorry God, this is not my idea, I will ride this one out, catch me next time round.
It is important to remember that sometimes we must let go and move on from those familiar things which we cling to so tightly, to embrace all that God has for us.
Oftentimes the things we hold onto so hard are not God’s best for us but we don’t see that. It is only by making the choice to let those things go that we can inherit the new beginning that God has for us. It is true that there is a time to depart even when you cannot clearly see the next step. No one said it would be easy.
That is tough to accept when what you have lost is your dream or when what you have lost has become more important to you than the one who made it possible in the first place.
Put another way, when things are not going our way we love to grab hold of the wheel of our life and not let go, thinking we can steer ourselves into calmer waters, in effect telling God we don’t trust Him.
The journey of faith calls us to trust God no matter what season of our life we are facing. If we obey and trust God He will lead us where we need to be. The great thing is we can be assured that He will be waiting for us when we arrive.
